The championship begins in Laois and Offaly in two weeks.
St Joseph's and Edenderry sealed victories in their respective Division One Football League finals in Laois and Offaly at the weekend.
St Joseph's proved too strong for Ballyroan Abbey, whilst Edenderry dramatically beat Tullamore with a last minute goal.
St Joseph's were appearing in a fourth consecutive Laois Shopping Centre ACFL Division 1 final at LOETB Centre of Excellence and a strong final quarter made sure that they secured a third title during that time. Ballyroan Abbey were appearing in a first league decider since 1999, and led for the majority of the game, which included a four point advantage at half time, as they led 8-4.
In the second half, despite the best efforts of James McWey, Diarmuid Whelan and Colm Walsh, St Joseph's kicked into another gear and kicked 1-9 without reply in the final 15 minutes, with Mikie Dempsey getting his side's second goal just before the game's conclusion to add to Mick Keogh's earlier strike to give the 2023 Laois champions the victory, as the game ended 2-17 to 0-13.
In Glenisk O'Connor Park, it was Edenderry who scored a dramatic last minute goal to seal the Offaly league title over reigning champions Tullamore and ended their four year winning streak. In what was a tame affair on Sunday afternoon, it was Edenderry who led 2-2 to 0-7 at the break with thanks to first half goals from Aaron Murphy and Sean Doyle.
John Furlong and Cormac Egan combined to get Tullamore's only goal and that looked to have been enough to get them over the line, however, substitute Kaelem Bryan proved to be Edenderry's hero as he struck 1-1 in injury time to give Edenderry the victory on a scoreline of 3-5 to 1-10.
All four sides now turn their attention to championship which begins in two weeks time.
