Stephen Kenny Era Begins In Bulgaria

Ireland will begin their nations league campaign at 7.45 tonight.

Tonight Stephen Kenny will become just the third Republic of Ireland manager - after Liam Touhy and Mick McCarthy - to begin his reign with a competitive match.

Bulgaria are the opposition in tonight's UEFA Nations League tie in Sofia.

Kenny admits that playing behind closed doors makes the task of winning the game a little bit more difficult:

He also feels Adam Idah has the temperament to perform for the Republic of Ireland. 

The Cork teenager could feature tonight.

Kenny believes the Norwich City striker will only improve. 

Midfielder Jeff Hendrick hopes supporters can be patient with the team under the new management set-up.

Stephen Kenny has had just a few days to work with his squad ahead of his first game in charge this evening.
