Stuart Grehan Wins Irish Men’s Amateur Close Championship

The Tullamore man had a one stroke victory over Alex Kerins.

Stuart Grehan has made history by claiming golf's Irish Men’s Amateur Close Championship in Westport.

The Tullamore man's victory comes on the back of his win in the Irish Amateur Open Championship at Seapoint earlier this summer, and he's followed in the footsteps of Padraig Harrington by completing the double.

Grehan's round of 70 saw him hold off the challenge of Alex Kerins by just one-stroke on the final day in Mayo.
