The Paul Doolin Era Begins In Athlone Tonight

He'll be in the dugout as Galway the trip to Lissywoolen.

Paul Doolin will be in the dugout at Lissywoolen for the first time tonight as Athlone Town take on Galway United. 

The former Drogheda boss replaced Adrian Carberry earlier this week. 

The midlanders enter the game sixth in the SSE Airtricity League First Division - eight points of UCD in the playoff spots.

It'll need to be a turning point in what has been a turbulent recent run of form which peaked with a 6-nil defeat to their nearest rivals UCD. 

Galway have only tasted defeat to Athlone once since 2006 and that came in April this year. 

Doolin has no new injuries to report ahead of the game with Killian Cantwell back to full fitness. 

Kick-off is 7.45pm.
