They meet in O'Moore Park next weekend.
With their championship futures now secure Laois and Westmeath hurlers will return to training this week intent on preserving their Division One status.
Both found the going difficult in the upper echelons of league hurling but having both had very positive run outs in the championship, they'll be coming into this challenge with a wave of positivity.
The game itself has been pencilled in for next Saturday at 7:30pm in O'Moore Park.
It was due to take place in August but has been brought forward to help facilitate the outstanding club hurling finals from 2020 in Laois.
The O'Moore men having home advantage as they played one less league game on their home patch in 2021.
It'll be the first meeting of the sides in two years but more importantly it'll be their third fixture in back to back weekends and their ninth in the last three months.
This fixture could well come down to which panel manages their body best in the coming week.
