Athlone will "defend their position" in the table until the very end says their manager Dario Castelo.
His side slumped to a 1-0 home defeat to Bray Wanderers on Friday night, making it three defeats on the bounce.
It leaves the midlands side fifth in the table just two points ahead of Treaty United and four ahead Bray Wanderers with two games remaining.
