Tullamore Speedster Added To Ireland Men's Sevens Squad

Jordan Conroy missed the opening leg of the HSBC World Sevens Tour last weekend.

The leading try-scorer from the last HSBC World Sevens Tour will make his debut in the 2021 competition this weekend.

Jordan Conroy missed the opening weekend in Dubai but has flown out to join the squad along with Leinster academy player Andrew Smith.

The duo replace the injured Hugo Lennox and Bryan Mollen.

It was a mixed bag of performances from the men on the opening weekend and they once again begin with pool fixtures against South Africa, Great Britain and Japan on Friday.

There's no update to the women's squad, meaning Tullamore's Megan Burns and Mullingar RFC's Katie Heffernan retain their places in Aiden McNulty's plans for leg two.

Their pool opponents will be Fiji, France, USA and Great Britain.
