Hopes are high it can be re-scheduled for later in the year
The US Open Golf Championship which was due to have taken place at Winged Foot in New York from June 18th to 21st has been postponed.
It's expected that an official announcement to that effect will be made by the USGA who run the tournament later today.
It is being speculated that the tournament will be re-scheduled for later in the summer.
The US Masters in Augusta in April has already been called off.
To date nine tournaments on the PGA Tour have been re-scheduled or cancelled.
