Defending champion favourite to prevail once again
Defending champion Michael Van Gerwen from The Netherlands will face Scot Peter Wright in the final of the PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace London on New Years' night.
Number one seed Van Gerwen was not at his best but he still defeated Nathan Aspinall by six sets to three last night.
The other semi-final was a tense affair and there was no love lost between seventh seed Wright and third seed Gerwen Price from Wales as they battled it out for a place in the final.
But it was Wright who played the best darts by far to sweep past Price and win by six sets to three.
The winner of the final will be the first to reach seven sets.
