Walsh Called Up To Ireland's Olympic Training Squad

The Tullamore woman has been fighting for Olympic qualification for years.

Offaly's Gráinne Walsh has been named in Ireland's Olympic Training squad for Paris 2024.

Walsh was crowned national champion at 66kg for a second consecutive time in November and will be hoping to win qualification for the summer games in Italy at the end of next month.

The first of two world qualification tournaments will take place in Busto Arzizio from February 29th to March 12th.

Walsh will be training with 21 other Irish boxers including the already qualified, reigning lightweight champion and Walsh's St Mary's Boxing Club team mate, Kellie Harrington.
