Germany's Stefanie Von Berge has been dispatched by the Offaly fighter.
Offaly's Grainne Walsh has emerged from her last-32 bout against German fighter Stefanie Von Berge after a nail biting contest.
The back to back national champion went into the third and final round of the fight with the scores level at one a piece.
Walsh put in an impressive shift in that decisive round to move to the last 16.
She's now just two wins away from qualifying for the Paris games.
Kelyn Cassidy was also victorious, stopping his opponent from Guatemala in the first round to progress to the last 16 in the 80kg division.
Daina Moorhouse and Jude Gallagher are in action later today.
