We Have To Keep Momentum Going In The Joe McDonagh - Kevin O'Brien

Westmeath welcome Carlow to Cusack Park tomorrow.

Westmeath Hurling Manager Kevin O'Brien says the Joe McDonagh Cup is a "compact" competition.

His side are aiming to make it back to back wins this weekend, as they welcome Carlow to Mullingar for Round Two.

The Lake County were 10 point winners over London last Sunday, while their opponents secured an impressive victory at home to Laois.

Victory for either side will leave them in a positive position going forward.

O'Brien says momentum is important in this year's championship:

Throw in is at 4:00pm from Cusack Park tomorrow.

You can listen to the full interview on Ahead Of The Game tonight from 7:00pm on Midlands 103.

Elsewhere, Laois take on Antrim, with both sides looking to recover from opening round defeats.

Laois suffered a nine point defeat away to Carlow, while Antrim conceded a late goal to Down last weekend.

Throw in is at 4:00pm from O'Moore Park tomorrow.
