Westmeath And Laois Clash In Tailteann Cup Preliminary Quarter Final

The winners will receive a quarter final away from home against a group stage winner.

Westmeath and Laois meet this weekend in the Tailteann Cup for a spot in the quarter finals.

The Lake County finished second in group three following their defeat to table toppers Limerick last Saturday, whilst Laois secured a win over fellow midlands rivals Offaly.

Despite losing out on top spot, Dermot McCabe's side are still ranked as second favourites to win the Tailteann Cup.

Midlands 103 analyst Gerry Buckley says Westmeath's performance needs to improve from last weekend:

Throw in is at five o'clock in TEG Cusack Park on Saturday.
