Westmeath Beaten By Quality Tyrone Outfit In League Opener

The Lake County are next in action against Monaghan this weekend.

Westmeath were on the receiving end of a strong performance from Tyrone in the counties' league opener in Division Three.

Tyrone attacked with fluency and accuracy through the game, exemplified by Maria Canavan's well taken goal in the second half.

Leanne Slevin scored a penalty to put a bit of polish on scorebaord for Westmeath but the Ulster side ran out deserving 2-7 to 1-9 winners.
