The Lake County got the best of Longford in Mullingar.
Westmeath have been crowned the Andrew Cordon Cup winners this year after victory over Longford in Mullingar.
Damien Gavin's side won the second tier under 20 provincial competition after making a strong start that saw them race in to a 2-2 to 4 point lead thanks to two goals from Brian Cooney in the opening 25 minutes.
Westmeath's lead got up to eight points with just ten minutes of the game left but had to weather a spirited Longford come back.
Late goals from Josh Kelly and Michael Flynn clsoed the gap to the smallest possible margin with Westmeath hanging on for a 3-9 to 2-11 victory.
Congratulations to our Under 20 footballers who were crowned Andrew Corden Cup winners last night after a thrilling 3-09 to 2-11 win over Longford at TEG Cusack Park.
