Laois were left to rue a slow start.
Westmeath got the better of Laois in the Leinster Ladies Intermediate Championship Final yesterday after a six point win in Mullingar.
A fast start from The Lake County proved to be the difference, as the home side ran in 1-4 before Laois got their openIng score after nine minutes.
Despite a strong second half from The O'Moore County, Westmeath were able to hang on to a 1-12 to 9 point win.
Winning manager Frank Browne says it was a very solid performance from his side.
