Michael Finneran has been robbed of two stars through injury.
Westmeath are facing into the remainder of their Lidl Ladies League without two key players.
Vicki Carr and Lucy McCartan missed their defeat to Donegal last weekend through injury and it seems as if they'll be out for a sustained period of time due to unnamed knocks.
The Lake county are currently in a period of transition following the departure of a plethora of their All-Ireland Intermediate winning side.
Incoming boss Michael Finneran is facing a serious project to keep them in the top tier of the league for next season and it won't be helped by the loss of two of his cornerstone players.
Speaking to Midlands103 after the two point defeat last Sunday, he said:
We're in the game for all of it, which is a big push on for us, and there's something there to be learned on and to be improved on for the next day.
On the injury front Ashley Ruane will be back to us next for the next game, that's one definite. Vicki Carr and Lucy McCartan look longer term. We haven't an actual time for him on those yet. So it's it's unclear there, but we everyone else should be good to go the next day please god.
I think we're at the top level in the league and you get to find out where you're out there. I'd be hopeful that we are where we showed today (against Donegal).
Their attitude is brilliant and once you've got that, I think there's room for improvement. I think we will improve as a team going forward, so I'd be quite happy where we're at at the moment.
Galway next two weeks time, there'll probably be a come down now, after those two games and then you'll try and reboot next week and get ready for that game. Listen, it'll be similar to today, with the the mindset we've got to be competitive. Can we do that first of all?
If we do that and we tweak a bit more going forward and show that bit more composure in possession, who knows maybe we can cause an upset up there.
