The Lake County's winless run continues.
Westmeath suffered yet another narrow defeat on Saturday, as Kildare claimed a two point win in Newbridge in the Leinster Football Championship Quarter Final.
Despite conceding a goal and playing against the wind in the first half, The Lake County held a one point lead at the break.
However Kildare finished the stronger of the two sides and scored a second goal to close out a 2-17 to 21 point victory.
Westmeath manager Dermot McCabe highlights Ray Connellan's departure from the field as having an impact on the game.
