Westmeath Pick Up Vital Win In Joe McDonagh

The Lake County must win their final 2 matches to stand any chance of reaching the final.

Westmeath have picked up their first win in this years Joe McDonagh Cup after the Lake County were comfortable 10 point winners over Down on Saturday. 

A goal in each half from David Williams & Joey Boyle helped the midlanders close out a 2-24 to to 20 point win at Cusack Park.

The win leaves Westmeath fourth in the table after three matches with Carlow and Kerry still to play.

Manager Seoirse Bulfin says there's plenty to play for in the next few weekends.
