Westmeath Prove Tailteann Cup Has Merit - Dessie Dolan

Dolan is reflecting on the end of his footballer's inter-county season.

There has to be a platform for Tailteann Cup winners says Westmeath manager Dessie Dolan. 

His thoughts come after he watched his fight back to claim a dramatic draw yesterday with Tyrone in the final round of the All Ireland group series. 

The Lake County had the chance to snatch victory late on, but John Heslin's late effort was just wide of the post. 

The season is now finished for the Midland side, with Tyrone advancing to the preliminary quarter finals, while Armagh top the group after victory over Galway. 

Speaking to Gerry Russell after the game, Dolan says that they've loved the experience of competing at that level:
