The Clonkill hurler took a turn when playing against Castletown Geoghegan on Sunday.
Westmeath dual star Luke Loughlin is doing "fine" after collapsing on the pitch of Cusack Park in the Westmeath Senior Hurling Championship.
The Clonkill player left the field of play during the second half of his club's meeting with Castletown Geoghegan to receive treatment for a mouth injury.
However when he returned to the field of play he fell to the ground.
Loughlin was immediately put into the recovery position by Castletown's player, Aonghus Clarke, then treated by medics from both sides, and subsequently brought to Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar.
After precautionary scans and a period of observation, the Westmeath man was released from hospital today.
The game itself was suspended until both sides decided they wanted to see out the remainder of the contest - the final score at Cusack Park was 0-27 to 3-11 in Castletown Geoghegan's favour.
