Westmeath's poor handling skills and passing accuracy were as much down to Kerry's front foot defending as it was the Lake County's underperformance.
That's according to Westmeath back Tommy Doyle after his side were well beaten by the Kingdom in their Joe McDonagh Cup opener.
Joe Fortune's side were second best in Cusack Park from the start, and will now have to win away to Offaly this weekend if they're to compete for championship success.
