The Lake County will look to put a difficult league behind them
Westmeath start their Lenister football Senior Championship campaign this weekend as they take on Kildare in Newbridge.
The Lake County were relegated from Division Two of the National Football League after losing six of their seven matches, however the midlanders did fight back to draw with Roscommon in their last league outing.
Despite securing promotion to the second tier Kildare ended their campaign on a sour note after losing out to Offaly in the league final in Croke Park.
However Westmeath manager Dermot McCabe says it's going to be a huge challenge for his side.
