Westmeath Trainer Bags Win On The Beach In Laytown

El Padre won at odds of 12/1.

Rathowen trainer Adrian Murray has had a winner at the most unique meeting in Irish racing.

El Padre claimed the opening handicap on the beach in Laytown at odds of 12/1.

It comes just 24 hours after a successful spin over timber in Cork.

Jump jockey Sean Flanagan took the mount having only taken out a license to ride on the flat for the unique event in Meath.

The two victories have ended a barren run of form for the Westmeath man, who hadn't tasted victory since March before yesterday.
