It's win or bust for both counties in the final group phase game of the championship.

Westmeath can throw off the shackles of their nearly-men reputation and secure their first win in the All Ireland Football Championship, according to Midlands 103 analyst, Gerry Buckley.

Dessie Dolan's side have played five games in the Sam Maguire series in its current guise in the last two years, and have lost all but one game.

That was a final day draw against Tyrone last year when a win would have sent them through to the next round.

On at least three occasions, Westmeath have come close to pulling off a significant victory.

With Derry the opposition for their last group phase outing in this year's competition, Buckley believes the Lake County have what it takes to win.

He says Mickey Harte's out of sorts side can be beaten.

Buckley and Midlands 103's David Hollywood looked forward to the final championship outing for one the two sides:

The action throws in at Pairc Esler in Newry for 7pm on Saturday.
