World Cup: Mexico Through To Knockout Stages

Canada and Switzerland recorded big wins.

World Cup co-hosts Mexico are the first team through to the knockout stages.

Luis Romo's goal in Guadalajara was enough for a 1-0 win over South Korea last night.

Czechia and South Africa played out a 1-1 draw in Atlanta, meaning all the other teams in Group A could still qualify for the Round of 32.

Canada's 6-0 hammering of Qatar in Vancouver was overshadowed by a horror injury for their midfielder Ismael Koné.

They're top of Group B on goal difference - just ahead of Switzerland, who beat Bosnia Herzegovina 4-1.

This evening, the USA can qualify for the knockout stages with a win over Australia tonight.

That game is underway in Seattle at 8pm Irish time.

It's an 11pm start for Scotland's game against Morocco in Boston.

A win for Steve Clarke's side tonight could be enough for Scotland to make the World Cup knockout stages for the first time ever.
