Olga Carmona's first half strike was enough to beat England in the decider.

Spain have won the Women's World Cup for the first time in their history.

They defeated England 1-0 in the final in Sydney.

Captain Olga Carmona scored the winner in the first half.

Lauren Hemp hit the crossbar for England but Spain's Jenny Hermoso missed a penalty in the second half and on balance Spain were the better team.
