They chatted the "I'm On Fire" singer on songwriting, Irish writers, and health and diet.
The singer may have been "Born in The USA" but actually has roots here in the midlands! His great great grandmother emigrated from Mullingar during the famine.
Cronin also got to share some of their rough mixes to the boss and to The Pogues star, Shane McGowan.
In their post, the band described him as "a gentleman, a legend and taught us a lot".
Bruce will be "Dancing In The Dark" in the RDS this Friday, Sunday and Tuesday.
