Three TUS students were among the winners.
A midlands student has won gold at the World Skill Ireland Championships.
Plumbing apprentice on the TUS Athlone Campus, Ballynacarrigy’s Frank Moffit, got the high honour in the plumbing category.
Other TUS winners included Conor Grace from Toomevara who won the Industrial Control competition, and Mechanical automation and maintenance fitter apprentice Gary Golden.
12 TUS-based apprentices qualified for the World Skills Ireland finals this year.
Congratulating this year’s winners, their mentors and employers, TUS President Professor Vincent Cunnane says:
“TUS continues to futureproof apprenticeship capacity and recognises the need for qualified workers and people who are highly and technically trained in areas with future skills needs.”
