CSO have released the figures for December 2023.
Just over 10,500 people signed on in the midlands last month.
New figures from the CSO show Westmeath had the highest number on the Live Register in the region at over 4,000.
In December of last year, both Laois and Offaly saw more than 3,000 people sign on.
Meath recorded the biggest increase at 5.6%, with Laois was up by 1.1% and Leitrim up by 1%.
There were 173,900 people on the seasonally adjusted register, down 500 from November.
