11 People Arrested In Effort To Tackle Organised Crime In Laois

A number of operations were carried out over the past two days.

11 people have been arrested in Laois as part of a major garda operation to tackle organised crime gangs.

Gardaí carried out a number of operations over the past two days as part of Operation Thor.

They resulted in 45 charges against 11 suspects - including burglary, criminal damage, possession of drugs, money laundering and drug driving.  

Suspects were also charged with 34 offences of burglary and theft in the last two weeks.

All of these suspects were brought before or are due before Portlaoise District Court.
