200 No-Shows For Driving Tests in Midlands So Far This Year

Nationally, the figure of no-shows is over 3,000.

200 people applied for a driving test in the midlands this year, and didn't show up on the day. 

79 no-shows were recorded in Offaly, 78 in Westmeath, and 43 in Laois.

Nationally, it brings the total number of no-shows to over 3,000. 

Missed tests have generated a fee of almost €258,000  this year.

Junior Transport Minister Seán Canney says some people are booking tests just so they can renew their provisional license:
