A 225 kilometre charity walk is set to pass through the Midlands today.

Workers from Pamex Ltd will depart Dublin at 10am this morning on a 225km relay walk to Castlebar, aiming to complete the journey in 36 hours while raising funds for the new Sunflower Children’s Hospice.

The walk will travel through Westmeath, passing via Kinnegad, Mullingar, Moate and Athlone before continuing west towards Castlebar.

The walk is intended to raise awareness of the need for the new hospice, which will be the first children’s hospice to be established outside of Dublin.
