287 Midlands Properties Still Without Power

Nationally there are 26,000 thousand are without electricity.

287 properties are still without electricity in the midlands this lunchtime following Storm Ellen.

Athlone and the surrounding areas and Rathdowney are the areas worst affected.

The ESB estimate that power will be restored to these areas before 9pm.

Nationally there are 26,000 thousand homes and businesses without electricity.

The most significant outages are in areas of the South, West and Midlands, including North and East Cork, Tipperary, East Limerick, East Galway, Roscommon and Leitrim.

ESB Networks have restored electricity to 168 thousand customers since Wednesday night.
