The statistics come from the latest HCCI report.
Almost 1,000 people in the midlands are on a waiting list for home support.
Health Area CHO 8 which includes Laois, Offaly and Westmeath is experiencing significant increases in waiting lists due to care-rationing by the HSE.
There's been a 30% increase in those waiting for home support in the region since 2023 - according to the latest HCCI report.
Nationally, that figure is over 5,500.
The HSE have not publicly addressed care rationing in CHO 1 and CHO 8 which withdrew large parts of a vital services from eleven counties without public notice or consultation.
