Large Number Of Midlands Children Waiting On Disability Services

A Laois-Offaly TD is calling for long term planning on the issue.

Sinn Fein says disability services for children in the midlands needs to be addressed. 

Nearly 3,000 children on a waiting list in the midlands and Louth Meath region. 

2,747 children don't have access to Child Disability Network Teams, which provide support to those with autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, among others.

Of those, 1,611 are deemed to have 'complex needs,' meaning they'll need greater services and support.
