A 33-year-old man has denied murdering school teacher Ashling Murphy in Offaly last year.
Jozef Puska, of Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, Co. Offaly pleaded not guilty before the Central Criminal Court this afternoon.
A jury has been sworn in to hear the trial of Mr. Puska, who is accused of murdering the schoolteacher on January 12th, 2022.
A jury of 9 men and 3 women has been sworn in to hear the trial of Mr Puska following his arraignment earlier today.
Addressing potential jurors, Mr Justice Tony Hunt said they shouldn’t serve if they engaged on social media about the case.
Ms Murphy died after she was out for a run along the Grand Canal in Cappincur, Tullamore, Co Offaly on January 12th 2022.
The trial is expected to last for up to five weeks.
