Up to 2,000 Home Owners have already secured the first home scheme loan.
75 percent of approvals under the First Home Scheme have come from only 5 counties.
Dublin, Kildare, Meath, Wicklow and Cork hold the highest proportion while the rest of the country, including the midlands, share the final quarter of approvals granted.
In total, 4 thousand 850 buyers have been approved over the initial two years of the scheme.
CEO of the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers, Castlepollard's Pat Davitt, says the figures show the scheme to be ahead of what was expected:
