693 Ukrainians Enrolled Into Midlands Schools

Almost 700 Ukrainian students were enrolled in Midlands schools at the end of the school year.

15,625 Ukrainian pupils were enrolled in schools nationwide.

Westmeath had the highest number at 303, followed by 222 in Laois and 168 in Offaly

The latest Department of Education data indicates an enrolment rate of 88 per cent among Ukrainian children aged 5 to 18.

The counties hosting the highest number of students are Dublin, Kerry and Cork - with the lowest, Monaghan, Longford and Offaly.
