Offaly Man Bracing Himself For Toughest Lockdown Yet In The Netherlands

The restrictions will be in place over Christmas.

An Offaly man living in the Netherlands is preparing for their strictest lockdown yet.

Only essential shops will be allowed to open from today for the next five weeks, with schools and amateur sport also put on hold.

A maximum of two guests are allowed to visit households, expect on Christmas Day when three are allowed.

Tom Cleary from Banagher says the Dutch traditionally celebrate Christmas around 5th December so it's not a massive blow - although it's a lonely time for Irish people abroad:
