Two members of a Laois family have died in a crash in Turkey.
Eoin Fitzpatrick and his ten-year-old son Dylan, who were from Portlaoise, were on a family holiday when the accident happened.
It's understood they were travelling on a moped in the tourist town of Alanya yesterday.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says its aware of the incident, and is offering consular assistance to their family.
Laois Offaly Sinn Féin TD Brian Stanley says there's a sense of shock among the community:
Monsignor John Byrne says there's a cloud over Portlaoise since the news reached the town.
He says people will do what they can to support the family.
Dylan's mum is travelling to Turkey to be with her other son Cian, who is still there.
