The health and safety authority inspected the premises in Laois in October.
A midlands nursing home has been hailed by HIQA inspectors after being compliant in all areas.
Abbeyleix Community Nursing Unit was subject to an assessment from the Health Watchdog in October.
Inspectors noted a calm and relaxed atmosphere throughout the nursing home last October, with nine residents being accommodated on the day of inspection.
They told HIQA they were comfortable and well-looked-after, and were supported to enjoy a good quality of life.
Residents also said the nursing home was a very good place to live, and staff were attentive to their needs.
Inspectors highlighted there was unrestricted access to pleasant outdoor spaces, with suitable seating arrangements and a variety of seasonal plants.
The Health Watchdog says the premises was laid out to meet the needs of residents, and to encourage and aid independence.
