Adult & Paediatric EDs At Midlands Hospital Extremely Busy Today

Patients are being reminded to consider their options before attending the EDs.

The Adult and Paediatric Emergency Department Services at the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar are extremely busy today.

Patients are being reminded to consider their options before attending the EDs.

A Minor Injuries Clinic is available for those over 16 at Charter Medical Private Hospital in Ballinderry, Mullingar.

They will see people with the following injuries:
o Suspected broken bones to arm (from collar bone to fingertip)
o Suspected broken bones in legs (from knees to toes)
o Sprains and strains
o Wounds, bites (animal or insect) cuts, grazes and scalp laceration
o Minor burns and scalds
o Foreign bodies
o Minor chest injuries

However, anyone who attends the ED and is in need of urgent care, will be prioritised.

Management is thanking the public for their support and understanding during this period.
