Allowing Electric Picnic to go ahead in the current climate would be an act of madness. 

Laois Councillor Paschal McEvoy believes the event should be shelved for 2020 to alleviate health and safety concerns for both festival goers and local residents. 

Orgnaisers of the Stradbally festival applied for a planning licence on Monday, with a decision due from the local authority in the middle of June. 

The Fianna Fáil rep says cancelling for one year won't affect sales in the future:
