Almost 1,900 Adults In The Midlands Waiting 18 Months Or more For Appointments

That's a decrease from June's figure.

There were 1,890 adults waiting longer than 18 months for an outpatient appointment in the midlands last month.

That's a decrease in the region from last month, which saw over 2,000 people waiting a year and a half.

Nationally, 65,934 adults were waiting that long to be seen.

Galway University Hospitals have the largest number for July, with over 10,500 waiting 18 months or more for their appointment.

There were also over 8,000 children waiting a year and a half or more for their outpatient appointment in the month of July.
