Almost 30 Serviced Sites Lying Idle In Birr

According to a local councillor, these sites could be used as a way of alleviating the housing shortage in the county.

Offaly County Council is being urged to make full use of its affordable serviced sites.

They're one way of alleviating the housing shortage in the county, according to independent rep John Leahy.

The plots of land, which utilities like water and sewage already installed, can be bought from the council for reduced rate.

Councillor Leahy says there are currently between 25 to 30 serviced sites lying idle in the Birr area alone.
