Over 100,000 people have been on waiting for beds nationally.
Almost 5 thousand patients have been waiting on trollies in midlands hospitals so far this year.
Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show that there were two and a half thousand people waiting for beds in Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar, 13 hundred in Tullamore and 867 in Portlaoise.
Nationally, over 100 thousand people have been on waiting trollies in the year to date.
University Hospital Limerick is the worst-hit in the country, with over 15,300 patients left waiting.
Last week the interim CEO of the HSE said he expects many elective surgeries to be postponed this winter due to demand.
