That's the message after a meeting of local reps, TDs and MEPs.
Offaly councillors are welcoming "almost unanimous political support" for the county to receive the majority of Just Transition funds.
The European Just Transition Fund is worth €77m and could be doubled with matched funding from the Irish government.
It comes as council members met MEPs and local TDs, urging them to prioritise Offaly for European funding as the county with the greatest loss of jobs from the closure of peat-burning electricity plants.
