An appeal is being lodged to An Commisiun Pleanala against a planned housing development in Laois.
De Bhal Construction Ltd received planning permission from Laois County Council at the end of August to build 30 houses at the Rahin Towers estate in Ballylinan.
The proposed development of 30 homes, includes a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses and one-bedroom duplexes, with the local authority granting permission subject to 19 conditions.
However, Liam Murray has lodged an appeal due to a significant overdevelopment, undermining the established low-density character of Rahin Towers, compromises road safety and results in the loss of protected amenity space.
A decision in relation to the planning application is set to be made by An Coimisiun Pleanala by January 15th, 2027.
