Noise Pollution Assessment To Be Carried Out Along Athlone Bypass

The mayor says local residents are being affected day and night.

An assessment is being carried out into noise pollution along the Athlone bypass.

Local councillor Aengus O'Rourke is calling for soundproofing barriers to be installed, to protect nearby residents.

The Fianna Fáil rep says the current domestic garden fence panels in place are ineffective.

He says expects consultants will be appointed before the summer to examine the matter:
